ARLINGTON — The Arlington Police Department is investigating the fatal stabbing of a 53-year-old woman, whose body was discovered Monday morning in the backyard of her home. The victim was found in the 1000 block of Shortleaf Pine Drive after a family member called the authorities.
Arlington police officers arrived at approximately 9 a.m. and found the woman unresponsive with multiple apparent stab wounds. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s identity at a later time.
Based on a preliminary investigation, detectives do not believe the attack was random. Police stated in a news release that the woman likely knew her killer. No arrests have been made in connection with the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
