The City of Arlington has officially introduced new Arlington On-Demand ride credit bundles designed to improve affordable and flexible public transportation across the community. The new program allows riders to pre-pay for trips at discounted rates, offering residents a more cost-effective way to access shared transit services throughout the city.

Under the newly launched pricing structure, riders can purchase $30 in ride credit for $25, $60 in ride credit for $45, or $90 in ride credit for $65. These ride credit bundles are available directly through the official Arlington Transportation app.

Previously known as Via Rideshare, Arlington On-Demand has served residents, students, and visitors since 2017. Now operating in its eighth year, the service continues to provide an equitable and flexible transportation option without relying on fixed routes or schedules. Operated by Via Transportation, the system uses real-time technology to group passengers traveling in similar directions into shared vehicles, helping improve efficiency while reducing traffic congestion across Arlington.

The Arlington On-Demand service connects riders to neighborhoods, shopping centers, restaurants, medical facilities, offices, and other major destinations throughout The American Dream City. The service also provides transportation to and from the CentrePort TRE Station and the Eastchase Parkway area in Fort Worth, where riders can access Trinity Metro bus connections for travel to Dallas, Fort Worth, and surrounding areas.

Local officials introduced the ride credit bundle initiative to help lower transportation expenses for frequent riders. Residents commuting to work, attending school, or completing daily errands may benefit significantly from the discounted bulk pricing options. Riders who use the service multiple times each week are expected to see the greatest savings.

Shared rides can be booked six days a week through the Arlington Transportation app or by calling 817-784-7382. Service hours operate from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays.

For riders who do not purchase a ride credit bundle, fares remain distance-based. Trips up to four miles start at a minimum fare of $3, while rides longer than eight miles cost up to $8. Trips traveling between Arlington and CentrePort continue to operate at a flat $3 fare.

The launch of Arlington On-Demand ride credit bundles represents another major step toward expanding sustainable urban mobility throughout Arlington. By encouraging shared rides and reducing individual transportation costs, city leaders hope to improve accessibility while helping lower traffic volume and emissions across the region.
