ARLINGTON, Texas — The Arlington skyline is set to be dramatically transformed as Six Flags Over Texas prepares to debut a monumental new attraction in 2026: “Tormenta Rampaging Run.” This giga dive coaster is poised to shatter six world records, marking the most significant new ride announcement for the park in over two decades.

Timed with the park’s 65th anniversary celebration next year, Tormenta Rampaging Run promises to redefine the thrill-seeker experience. This one-of-a-kind ride will be the world’s tallest, fastest, and longest giga (300+ foot tall) dive coaster, delivering an unparalleled adrenaline rush.

Six Record-Breaking Thrills Await:

  • Tallest Dive Coaster: Soaring to an epic height of 309 feet, riders will be treated to a breathtaking view of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex before a heart-stopping plunge.
  • Fastest Dive Coaster: Reaching a blistering speed of 87 mph, Tormenta Rampaging Run will be the fastest dive coaster on the planet, guaranteeing pure excitement from start to finish.
  • Longest Dive Coaster: Spanning an incredible 4,199 feet, this extended journey will feature numerous airtime (weightless) moments, sharp turns, and exhilarating drops.
  • Tallest Vertical Coaster Loop: At an astonishing 179 feet, the loop on Tormenta Rampaging Run will be the highest of any coaster, of any type, worldwide.
  • Highest Immelmann Inversion: Thrill-seekers will experience being upside down at a dizzying 218 feet.
  • Highest 95-Degree Beyond Vertical Drop: Without warning, the train will release, sending riders plummeting a record 285 feet at a dramatic beyond-vertical 95-degree angle.

This monumental addition is the biggest news to come out of the original Six Flags theme park since the introduction of the Titan coaster in 2001, fulfilling years of anticipation from park guests and enthusiasts.

Beyond the Thrills: New Dining and Park Enhancements

In addition to the groundbreaking coaster, Six Flags Over Texas has also announced the opening of “Cocina Abuela,” a new restaurant poised to enhance the park’s culinary offerings. Located prominently in the Spain section, Cocina Abuela will feature authentic Spanish flavors and cuisine, including freshly made in-house tortillas, with aromas expected to fill the central plaza.

Construction for Tormenta Rampaging Run has been underway for several months on the former site of La Vibora (Bobsled) and is projected to take over a year to complete. While this massive project is in progress, the park is also undertaking a significant beautification effort, recommitting to enhancing its green spaces with new plants and flowers and updating the theming of existing rides and buildings throughout the park.

With these impressive transformations, 2026 is shaping up to be an important and unforgettable year for Six Flags Over Texas, promising an elevated experience for all visitors.
