Make It a November to Remember: Fall Activities and Community Events Across Arlington Parks

Arlington Parks • Recreation • Culture November 2026 Community Guide Published October 30, 2026

Fall festivities are in full swing across Arlington, and Arlington Parks, Recreation & Culture is inviting residents of all ages to make November 2026 truly unforgettable. The department has unveiled a varied slate of seasonal events spanning historic community milestones, outdoor twilight adventures, children’s Thanksgiving crafts, literature-inspired yoga sessions, and senior holiday gatherings.

Whether you want to witness a permanent piece of Arlington history at Rotary Dream Park or embark on a twilight geocaching turkey hunt at Cliff Nelson, here is the complete guide to November’s park offerings, including registration links and schedule details.

As the City of Arlington celebrates its monumental 150th anniversary, the community is marking the milestone not merely by reflecting on the past, but by growing forward. This ceremonial gathering marks the capstone of a year-long, citywide initiative to plant 150 trees each month in honor of Arlington’s 150 years: an enduring living legacy centered on sustainability, community, and civic pride.

Neighbors, families, and civic leaders are invited to gather at Rotary Dream Park for this special commemorative tree planting and the burial of Arlington’s official Sesquicentennial time capsule, preserving local stories for future generations.

Bring the little ones to Dottie Lynn Recreation Center for a cheerful, Thanksgiving-themed morning packed with creative hands-on crafts, seasonal games, and interactive activities. Designed as a flexible come-and-go event, Turkey Time offers preschoolers an engaging way to build fine motor skills and celebrate fall.

This event is designated specifically for children ages 5 and under. All young participants must be accompanied throughout the morning by a parent or guardian age 18 or older.

Birds of a feather, it is time to flock together at Cliff Nelson Recreation Center for an evening of outdoor geocaching adventure. The park’s holiday turkey has lost its colorful feathers, and park rangers need community detectives of all ages to help track them down across the grounds.

Following a brief orientation at 6:00 PM explaining geocaching coordinates and search boundaries, participants will head out onto the trails. Once all missing feathers are discovered, bring your completed turkey back to the check-in table to claim your celebratory prize. The event is free to attend and open to the entire family.

Combine mindful movement with literary conversation at Pages & Poses, a distinctive monthly gathering hosted by Dottie Lynn Recreation Center. Each session brings readers together to explore the themes of a selected novel, immediately followed by a mindful yoga practice inspired by the narrative.

November’s featured reading selection is The Chicken Sisters by K. J. Dell’Antonia, a witty story examining family dynamics, rivalry, and Southern cooking traditions. The program is open to teens and adults ages 13 and up.

Gather for a cozy, heartwarming morning of gratitude, laughter, and holiday hospitality at Arlington’s ACTIV center on the day before Thanksgiving. Attendees will be treated to warm cups of rich hot chocolate, delicious holiday cookies, and an enjoyable Thanksgiving craft project.

Bring along a friend, share fond memories, and celebrate the season in great company. Participation is reserved for active adults ages 50 and older, with pre-registration required online.
