The Arlington MLK Four-Day Celebration Committee is set to host the 2026 Martin Luther King Jr. “Advancing the Dream” Celebration from January 16–19, 2026. This year’s theme, “Advancing the Dream: A Journey Toward Unity,” focuses on community action and cultural excellence.

The event features a prestigious lineup, including keynote speaker Dr. Tomikia P. LeGrande, President & CEO of Prairie View A&M University, and emcee Vince Sims from NBC 5 (KXAS).

Saturday, Jan. 17 Poetry Meets Jazz Bluebonnet Ballroom (UTA) An evening of soulful jazz paired with powerful spoken word.
Sunday, Jan. 18 Hubert Moss Ecumenical Service First Presbyterian Church A free community worship service focusing on unity and reflection.
Monday, Jan. 19 Zeb Strong Jr. Day of Service Mission Arlington Community service projects. The first 500 volunteers get a free t-shirt.
Monday, Jan. 19 Day of Service Festival Arlington City Hall Family-friendly event with local dance troupes, bands, and a timeline exhibit.
Monday, Jan. 19 MLK Youth Extravaganza Fielder Church Metro Center A concluding showcase highlighting the talents of Arlington’s youth.

The Historical Timeline Exhibit

A unique feature of this four-day celebration is the MLK Historical Timeline Exhibit. Provided in part by Tarrant County College, this traveling exhibit will be on display at every event, offering attendees a deep dive into the Civil Rights Movement and Dr. King’s specific impact on North Texas.
