What Makes the Museum #1?

Designed by the late architect Rafael Viñoly, the 100,000-square-foot museum is architecturally significant, featuring an exhibit deck suspended by five massive concrete pillars representing the branches of the U.S. military.

  • The Ring of Valor: Upon entering from AT&T Way, visitors are greeted by a circular monument etched with the names of every Medal of Honor recipient in U.S. history.
  • Immersive Storytelling: The museum houses 31,000 square feet of gallery space that uses personal artifacts and high-tech simulations to place visitors in the “split-second decisions” made by heroes from the Civil War to modern conflicts in Afghanistan.
  • Interactive Technology: Guests can use interactive screens to “ask” questions to Medal of Honor recipients and receive recorded video responses.
